How the count works

Pallets go down the unit in rows. Each row runs either way round, and rows of both kinds can sit side by side across the width; the calculator tries every combination that fits the inside width and keeps the best.

Worked example

Euro pallets on a 13.6 m trailer: three across with the short side across fill 2.4 m and take 11 rows of 1.2 m — 33 pallets; two across with the long side across take 17 rows of 0.8 m — 34. Emons gives exactly that: usually 33, up to 34 oriented optimally. The same pallets in a 40ft container fit 25, in mixed rows across its 2,350 mm width.

When the answer misleads

When weight or height decides, not floor. The count is single-tier floor positions; a full floor of heavy pallets can exceed the unit's payload, and a stack can hit the ceiling or the door before it fills the floor. Check the payload and inside height of your unit before planning a second tier.
